Hey y’all,
Let's dive right in with this question: What’s the big deal about being open? If you’re not open to new ideas, you might just be leaving your business in the dust while the rest of the world moves forward. Let me break it down for you.
Imagine your business as a garden. Now, if you only ever planted one kind of seed, say, roses, sure, you'd have a rose garden. But, what about the butterflies? Or the bees that buzz over the daisies? Diversity in a garden attracts more life, more beauty. Openness in business is just like that diversity - it breathes new life into everything you do.
I’m still learning this myself in my own business. The Wright UX has been in business less then a year and I know that I don’t have everything figured out, but I sometimes think I have it all figured out. “My way or the highway,” right? Wrong. It has taken a few minor bumps in the road to realize I need to be open to new ideas, strategies, and techniques if I wanted to grow.
I remember this one time, I was working on a project for a non-profit organization. I had a vision for their website, but they saw things a little differently. They suggested something completely out of left field. I was tempted to shut it down. I mean, it was so different from what I was used to. But I remembered my new mantra, “be open”, and we gave it a shot.
Let me tell you, the results were nothing short of spectacular. Their customers loved it, and they even referred me to other businesses in their network. Had I stuck to my old ways, I would have missed out on a game-changing opportunity.
Embracing new ideas not only opened doors for The Wright UX, but it also provided me peace of mind. I am no longer fighting against the tide. I am flowing with it, and that is making all the difference.
Y'all, the world of web design, just like any other field, is constantly evolving. What worked yesterday may not work today. And what works today might not work tomorrow. Being open to change, to new ideas, can be the difference between stagnation and growth, between being stuck in the past and leading the way into the future.
So, what’s the secret sauce to success? Openness. Embrace it, and see how your business blooms.
Until next time, keep pushing those boundaries and seeking that peace of mind!
Talk next week!
